Hello Isabelle,
RépondreSupprimersorry to bother you like that but I'd like to ask for your help. Could you recommend me some French or Francophone contemporary novels? I need to read one French/Francophone novel for my translation class and then translate one page of it. I already picked Chagrin d'ecole by Daniel Pennac but then I found out that is has already been translated into Slovene. (I have to find a book that hasn't been translated into my language, but this may turn out as a hard task.)
I've also been thinking about the expression "contemporary" - how old can be a book to be still considered contemporary? 10, 20 years? What do you think?
I've found some great books that date from 1970s, but clearly they're not contemporary. :)
@ Vesna :
RépondreSupprimerI don't know what book to suggest you because I am frankly not up-to-date with french contemporary literature. But you can have a look at that link of the Goncourt Price, http://www.academie-goncourt.fr/ they're all french favorites of this year, so I'm sure you can find a book in these titles ! Also, you can be sure they're not translated yet, since they just went out this fall !
I heard a lot of positive comments on du domaine des murmures from Carole Martinez, Les souvenirs from David Foenkinos and des vies d'oiseaux from Véronique Ovaldé.
Hope that was helpful !
Yes, I will have a look at it, thank you. I will also go through the list of Canadian authours you gave me. Also, I wanted to inform you that I will be sending out your letter next week, preferably on Monday, so please tell me when you get it. I hope that everything is going fine at your place. ByeBye
